Confirmed.
This brings us an elite defensman with offensive skill and a large defensive presence. Our goals allowed this season are dragging up down in a tight division. We feel that with the emergence of the Neal/Hogson duo and the aquisition of Zherdev/Ribero, this trade will not hurt us offensively, but give us a large defensive boost.

Interesting trade. Was never a big fan of Zherdev, not sure how he is rated in EHM.
I would say this is pretty even though, with LA getting the advantage in the "win now" department. Funny how the Sedins always go as a package in leagues like this.

OKAY THATS SUCH BS. KINGS GET THE SEDINS WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYONE ON HIS FIRST LINE??
MY OFFER: ZAJAC, FROLIK, BOOTH, PITKANEN OR GONCHAR, 2011 first round pick and a top 5 prospect from fla.
I got a pm from van saying if i offer the first round pick and the prospect, I GET THE SEDINS. SO i traded nash to get those pieces and now nothing VAN? REALLY? i give you a full line and a top pairing defenseman and you shut me down. BS I CANT BELIEVE LA COULD OFFER MORE WHEN HES A CONTENDING TEAM......

Wow thats a sick package. This trade makes no sense, the return isnt "horrible" but compared to the isles its bad.
I would love an explanation as to why he traded them within the conference, let alone the divison, as apposed to trading them across the continent, to a different conference, and a team not in the race.
Ribiero- 30 Zajack- 25
zajac- 60 + pts ribiero- 53
Zherdev- Never had more than 61 pts Booth- 60 pts when healthy, and even then didnt play a full season Frolik- 43 pts his first full season, and he was on one of the wort teams
Islanders first round pick he was offering, which was floridas, is higher than LA's.
I would LOVE to hear vancouvers explanation, and if its "i made a mistake", then its a valid explanation.

I never said you would "get the sedins"
To quote:
"Well to beat LAs offer you'd need to do the following:
Switch gonchar with pitkanen Add a 1st Add a prospect"
I told you that to beat the offer LA had tabled, you would have to add those pieces. Where did I say you "would get the Sedins"?
You added the pieces, LA upped their offer. I pm'ed you and didn't get a response so I took the deal.
Please don't bring your made-up sob stories into another one of my trades ever again.

Also, the NYI offer never included David Booth. That is purely made up.
I think him crying and revealing his trade offer to everyone else is incredible immature and unprofessional. I think someone in charge should look at penalizing a draft pick/cap space.

Vancouver, you're acting really defensive and part of me thinks it's because this offer was in fact in place. Saying the NYI should be penalized a draft pick or cap space is equally ridiculous.
There's no rule that says a GM isn't allowed to make public what he offered. Why do you think teams make public offers to free agents, etc? It's to let their fan base know that they tried their hardest to acquire a player.
If you think I'm lying, I can link you to a NY Post article where Glen Sather explicitly states that the Rangers tried to acquire Stamkos in 2008, for Dubinsky, Del Zotto, + picks. Was Sather fined? No.
I have no problem with the trade, but I also have no problem with the Islanders airing his grievances. If you did back out on him, future GMs should be warned so that they know they are dealing with a GM who could possibly swing a different offer at any time.

do you want me to forward you the message(s)? I never once told the guy we'd have a done deal if he added the pieces.

No, I don't want you to forward the messages to me, I'm just saying that it's not against the rules for the Islanders to be upset with what happened.
Like I said before, the trade is fine in my eyes, and if anything you guys should work this out through PMs.

I probably would have taken it without Booth too lol. It would be close.
Can we just let the whole thing go? Neither of you is acting very classy here. Just take a deep breath. It's just a sim league. I understand why Vancouver is acting defensive but there was no need to call for him being penalized for just revealing his offer.
